In this blog post, our colleague Lukas gives you a high-level introduction to RDS files (vs. RData files) and serialization. The function checks whether there is already an RDS with the same name in the path, renames it if required, and provides it with a timestamp and a reference ARCHIVED_ON_xx. The function then saves the new RDS under the specified name.
Day 24 – big helper helfRlein
In the last 23 days I presented one function each day from the helfRlein package we created here at STATWORX. I hope you found some of the functions useful and had some fun discovering new ways of doing things with R! Since today is Christmas, only one thing remains to say: To see all functions you can either check out …
Day 23 – little helper strsplit
This little helper adds functionality to the base R function strsplit
– hence the same name!
Day 22 – little helper get_files
This little helper does the same thing as the "Find in files" search within RStudio.
Day 21 – little helper get_sequence
This little helper returns indices of recurring patterns. It works with numbers as well as with characters.
Day 20 – little helper char_replace
This little helper replaces non-standard characters (such as the German umlaut "ä") with their standard equivalents (in this case "ae").
Day 19 – little helper clean_gc
This little helper frees your memory from unused objects. Well, basically it just calls gc()
a few times.
Day 18 – little helper burglr
With this little helper you can load functions directly from an URL (e.g. from GitHub).
Day 17 – little helper to_na
This little helper is just a convenience function to set infinite values and NaNs to NA.
Day 16 – little helper statworx_palette
This little helper is our own STATWORX color palette.
